Helen Coley
Yoga Teacher: Yin
Helen's Story
I began my yoga journey in 2016 after a career in English teaching and was instantly hooked! As someone with a lot of nervous energy it helped me find the sense of peace I craved.

I have practised Yin for several years and have recently become increasingly convinced of the benefits of this slower paced, more meditative style of yoga as a complement to the Yang styles of Ashtanga and Vinyasa to provide balance to the body and mind. I was drawn to study for my 200 hr Yoga Alliance Professionals qualification in 2023 by the example of my Ashtanga Yoga teacher, Will Lavin, who with his wealth of knowledge, gentle manner and endless patience was the perfect guide and mentor.

In July 202, I completed a 30 hr intensive Yin course with Norman Blair, one of the UK's foremost Yin Yoga teachers, and I very much enjoy teaching this beautifully peaceful practice.

My Yin teaching is influenced by my love of literature and I love to share references to poetry and other inspirational texts in my classes.

I firmly believe that there is a form of yoga to suit every body. One can begin a practice at any age or stage of their lives and as someone relatively late to yoga, I personally hope to embody this example. Whenever you choose to begin your yoga journey is always the perfect time! I look forward to sharing my love of yoga with you.
